The first days
Some people might feel hungry the first 2-3 days after starting on a Nupo diet, but this is the period when it is most important to endure. If you can stick at it and get through the first couple of days, you will find that the hunger disappears entirely, and you will feel sufficiently satiated after each of the day’s 6 portions of Nupo.
If you feel hungrier one day, then you can have one or two extra portions of Nupo. During the same period, you may experience some temporary headaches, which can be remedied by drinking plenty of water.
Drinking plenty of water and other nice tricks
In the initial phase, you will need to drink water more often than you normally do, because your body will be disposing of excess water. You should drink as much as possible. This will minimize some of the inconveniences in the beginning, and fluid gives you a sensation of satiety.
Try to drink about 2 - 3 liters of fluids every day, including: water, tea, coffee, mineral water, sugar-free soft drinks, sugar-free juice and, if you like, one cup of drinking bouillon. You should keep a jug of chilled water in the fridge. The worst munchies can often be dealt with by brushing your teeth, which also gives the gums the massage that they need, because you’re not using your teeth to eat. Sugar-free chewing gum also gives the teeth something to work with, and it stimulates secretion of saliva, which keeps the mouth moist, and counteracts bad breath.
